For high school juniors and seniors, this two hour interactive seminar covers the college application and SAT essays. You’ll learn what admissions departments are looking for, and how to write an essay that makes your application stand out. Topics include anatomy of an essay, subjects to avoid, the most common grammar and mechanics mistakes, and the five Common Application topics with best and worst approaches. The SAT section explains how to write a polished rough draft in 25 minutes. From using each minute to your best advantage to reading and understanding the essay prompt, organizing and outlining, and coming up with attention grabbing introductions, you’ll learn how to approach this essay with a plan for success.
